THE ONLY PERSON WHO'S BETTER OFF THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO
Dude's got the same representation as Grand Funk Railroad and Eddie Money! As Bill Maher said:"He's so worried about Obama taking away the money he'll never have, but he's willing to give a manager fifteen percent."

Isn't the point, Joe agrees to pay the agent? He has THE choice?
Not, as is being suggested, by BO & Co.... taxing small businesses (at whatever the H*** rate now being proposed might be)...the government will decide how much of Joe's profits need to be "spread", and to whom (of the non earning masses)they should be "spread".
Maybe,.. if Joe were allowed to keep his own, earned profits he could, in fact, "spread the wealth" by hiring a manager, or a secretary, or a driver, or a nanny, or a gardener, or a personal trainer, or, all of the above.
Which, in turn, could free him to do more work, to make more profits to hire more people to produce or manufacture, market and distribute "Joe's Stuff"..Or, after paying payroll, property, overhead cost, and capital expenditures ...(drumroll) he could save that money.....to be invested, lent or donated to??
OR...the government could continue to increase taxes to create more social programs and to otherwise, continue to "absorb" Joe's small business profits, to distribute as they see fit, ultimately, Joe can take a place in line with his hand out, again?
Yep, that's a better idea.
It's raining...more than raindrops. I love you!, Call me "Crazy" AL
It's called a "progressive tax" and it isn't anything new or scary. In fact, it's been the system America has used since 1913, ever since Teddy Roosevelt (the Republican icon and McCain's hero) championed it.
So whether it's Eisenhower's top rate of 91%, Nixon's 70%, Reagan's 50% or Bush Jr.'s 35%, it ain't socialism (if it was don't you think McCarthy would have gone nuts over it?).
So when Obama wants to raise that top rate a measly 3.5%, back to the 39% it was under Clinton, just take a deep breath and remember that it will still be less than half of what it was for most of the 20th century. Ryan
Again, the difference Joe bemoans is less than four percent for the top tier (36% to 39.6%). This is the same tax rate that Clinton used to create 22 million jobs and raise the Dow Jones 7,000 points in eight years - while PAYING DOWN the National Debt.
Dubya's "tax cut" plan has had it chance. He's got less than five million jobs created and a net loss in the Dow Jones - while putting FIVE TRILLION on the US "credit card".
I think even "Joe the Plumber" can see those facts. Pardon my French - but if the shit starts backing up in the house... you FIX THE PLUMBING. You don't prescribe more of the same.
Can someone please explain why we deviated from Clinton's strategy after EIGHT YEARS of unprecedented growth?!
Russ you answered my television question, so I will answer your "why did we deviate from Clinton's strategy"
Because he was a Democrat, a "leftie"
a president from the "angry left".
To the Republicans out there, NOTHING he did while in office was good.
Do you Remember Rush Limbaughs countdown? I think he called it "America held hostage"?
People, idiots, really believe his and other conservative media's spewing of their views.
Likewise these same people will tell you The Bush Administration has done no wrong, every decision was correct, because he is Republican.
I can give you at least a dozen examples of regular people who fit this bill.
DO NOT ASK ME FOR NAMES!!
Because if you ask I WILL type them out with phone numbers, for you to confirm their insanity!
People, there are good politicians and there are bad politicians, there is even to a much smaller extent HORRIBLE politicians in office. But guess what? there is NO correlation between the good and the bad and them having an R or a D behind there name.
Ironically, there is a HUGE correlation between them being a bad politician and using the phrase
"angry left".
Royd
I remember. I do.
Indeed, the "measly 3.5%" doesn't sound like much unless your profit margin is at, near, of less than that (which, for many NEW small businesses, it is).
Factor in 3.5% tax rate hikes (at least,or more) EACH year to pay for newly mandated social programs and retention of established programs...and you have a very, scary, business plan.
I think we are all hoping and/or praying for an outcome that will be best for America.
Pouring, windy and cold here in Oregon...very grateful to have "vote by mail" when I see the long lines in other states! That should not be happening..how many voters will not be able to endure the weather, the physical insult or time lost while trying to vote!
