JOHN MCCAIN AND THE "RACE CARD".
Wow! McCain is such a sensitive dude when it comes to race. Who knew? The last I heard (in 2000) he was still using derogatory terms for Vietnamese people. Sure he was describing his captors... but would he still do the same thing, 30 years later, if it happened to be an country in Africa who'd held him captive?
And so proud, strong, John McCain has to feign disappointment because Obama said this:
There he is... LITERALLY Photoshopped by the McCain campaign onto a $100 bill?! You can't make this stuff up my friends.
One would think that McCain would rather address the "real answers" that Obama talks about. Nah, he'd rather ride out the feeble "race card" statement for a while.
And so proud, strong, John McCain has to feign disappointment because Obama said this:
"Nobody thinks that Bush and McCain have a real answer to the challenges we face. So what they're going to try to do is make you scared of me," Obama said. "You know, he's not patriotic enough, he's got a funny name, you know, he doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."UPDATE: It was that "dollar bills" comment that really got the McCain camp going, and then someone found this on John McCain's OWN YouTube page:

Could have used the $2 bill, except THAT would have been insulting.
$1,000 taxed from the windfall profits of the oil companies to give to the "poor"? We want details, please.
It is called capitalism?...or am I confused again? :) Feelin the love, AL
McCain "Know when to hold em" '08
ANNUAL
PROFITS YEAR GAS PRICE
$21.5 billion 2003 $1.47
$25.3 billion 2004 $1.79
$36.1 billion 2005 $2.19
$39.5 billion 2006 $2.34
$40.6 billion 2007 $3.05
It IS capitalism, but when the American taxpayer is bailing out mortgage companies, airlines, and other big businesses constantly, and oil companies are getting tax breaks while making record profits... something is amiss.
As you'll notice with the above chart, the oil companies love the rising (per barrel) cost of crude. It exponentially increases their profits.
The WSJ has an interesting article on the subject:

One thing is for sure, only McCain is "in the bag" for Big Oil. Flip-flopping on the worthless offshore drilling fiasco has netted him over $1 million dollars in donations from these fat cats. Is he really looking out for OUR best interests?
I think, WE can't assume anything at this point. The one thing for sure is, the profits being made by the oil speculators, oil companies and of course, our good friends the Saudis....obscene! Well, you know the "how to boil a frog" theory..that, is what is happening.
Supply and demand? Riiight. I so agree with what you are saying.
No one is impressed with ALL of the expected, stupid, stuff we are now seeing. (Except maybe the guys making the product!)
"Can't we all just try to get along?" (RK)..apparently not, if the campaign is now moving in the direction of using racism, as the distraction from the issues!
Who cares if he replaces the bowling alley with a BB court or takes the TV out of the Lincoln bedroom..I wish he would just talk to US, all of US who are still waiting.
I don't know about you, but I hope the Olympics can add some much needed, diversion and positive energy. Probably not?
Love, AL
Is using tax payer money to bail out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac capitalism? What about Bear Stearns? Or John McCain's Savings and Loan scandal all those years back? Isn't it strange that Wall Street wants unregulated free rein so they can reap big rewards by taking big risks in our "capitalist" marketplace. But what happens when they get into trouble? They come begging to the Fed to use our tax money to bail them out.
So, is it called capitalism? Yes, for the little guy it is. But for the fat cats? Only when the good times are rolling.
