CARLOS MENCIA CAN'T HELP HIMSELF
If you're even a casual fan of stand-up comedy, you've surely heard the accusations that Carlos Menica steals other comedians bits time and time again. Now it appears he may be "borrowing" material for his TV show. First off, take a look at this video... if you haven't seen it already:
This "David Blaine" video was posted last October (2006) and has since generated over 6,000,000 hits on YouTube alone. It even spawned a sequel by the same three writer/actors that currently has over 3,000,000 hits.
To most people, these videos are examples of something funny and original. However, to Carlos Mencia, they're simply examples. Something to clumsily copy and make less humorous... despite having a budget. Take a gander at Mind of Mencia's "original" Criss Angel bit:
Add in the fact that Criss Angel is not exactly known for this "mentalism" style of magic, and you've got... well... Carlos being Carlos... again.
