Russ, what IS this?!? I mean, BESIDES an amazing underwater explosion. What do we know of this?
The clip (on YouTube) says that it's a Navy operation that planned to detonate mines in the area. However, there was a sunken WWII barge with 10 tons of explosives nearby. That's what caused the 2nd (black soot) explosion.
I just like the "boom"!
The countdown appears to be in francais...which would explain the gawd awful mess they made....we all live downstream. sigh.
