NEW ANIMATION FROM ME!

Okay, so I'm not sure how many people have seen my "real audio" Casey Kasem animation, but after 3+ years, I'm convinced that it gets me more work than any other single animation I've done. I consistently get word back from clients who've watched my reel that they end up replaying the Kasem "Dead Dog" piece over and over.

The problem? As you can see here, the Kasem animation borrows heavily (to put it lightly) from the "South Park" style. That's because in February 2003, I'd never done ANY animation AT ALL. In experimenting, I decided to use the famous Casey Kasem audio rant to see if I could master lip-syncing a character. It turned out pretty well, and once I was finished I moved on to developing my own animation style.

However, there's something about this "real audio" aspect that makes this piece stand out. This style even led to me animating Henry Winkler, and even the "Malcolm in the Middle" gang for well-paying gigs. Which is why I decided to tackle another audio gem I had lying around. It features Jack Palance (from the 1980's) doing a voice-session, and losing his mind over some woman who's giving him too many "goddamn directions".

I also used a 3D camera for the first time to mimic the handheld camera look/feel of a documentary shoot. I think it turned out pretty well. (NOTE: This audio contains some harsh language, and should not be listened to at work, in front of children, or during weddings/funerals.)

Oh, and for those of you who are purists. Here's a Quicktime version that is much better quality.

(UPDATE: This thing has been on the web for only a few hours... but it already got linked at Pistol Wimp. Yeah! Oh, in case you didn't know... that's a BIG DEAL in cyberdork land.)

It appears Jack Palance is not dead yet. Neither here nor in real life. Cannot WAIT for his reaction...

That is very good! Jack Palance and Herb Albert in one video. I'm not sure but maybe you could play that at my funeral.
