Shirley Phelps-Roper on "Hannity & Colmes"
For those who don't know, Shirley Phelps-Roper is the spokesperson for the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas. You can access the church's website through www.godhatesfags.com... presumably because www.westborobaptistchurch.com was taken. The church was started by Shirley's father, The Reverend Fred Phelps who is most famous for picketing Matthew Shepard's funeral. Phelps' Wikipedia page (link above) might be the longest, and most bizzare thing ever!
The church has now taken to protesting at deceased soldier's funerals with messages like "God Bless 9/11", and "God Bless I.E.D.'s".
At any rate, Shirley makes an ASS (as usual) of herself... and gets more airtime thanks to H&C who resort to saying "you should be ashamed of yourself." Wow, how original guys? You think she hasn't heard that a millon times?
How about asking her why she has a hyphenated last name? This wouldn't seem to be "in line" with her father's hardline teachings about a woman's place in marriage. Phelps said this during one sermon:
A good left hook makes for a right fine wife. Brethren, they can lock us up, but we'll still do what the Bible tells us to do. Either our wives are going to obey, or we're going to beat them!
I wonder what Mr. Roper must be like.

I'm happy there is a female like Shirley Phelps Roper out there preaching the truth of God instead of acting in porn doing it with animals and or other women or the women that hide their sin and dress prudently to attend Church every week. This country has fallen completely away from the truth that our Lord Jesus Christ brought to this World and that is why the United States is doomed. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. I do not attend Westboro Baptist Church I however live in Las Vegas a.k.a. by the unrepentent 'Sin City' I know she is speaking 100% of the truth this country has in fact allowed sodomy and many other abominations to take place therefore God has had it in his Will from all eternity that it would be judged and yes it has come to pass. The Devil exists to be offer a choice to mankind to either go to God by their own free will or rebel and follow the Devil. One thing Christians and everyone must acknowledge is that we all must be grafted into Israel (Gods people) that means everyone Buddhists, Catholics, Christians, Gentiles, Hindus, Jews, Muslims, EVERYONE! To be one of Gods people and to become a joint heir of Jesus Christ you follow God's ways not because you have to but because you want to! This means celebrating the festivals of Israel and realizing all else that Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for sin and is alive evermore ruling in Heaven and soon on Earth! Go out and make disciples of the nations teaching them everything the Lord has tought us! Follow the commandments to love the Lord your God with all your mind, heart, body, strength, and soul and to love everyone as yourself. I question Ropers tactics at times because we should be regenerative however I feel it is important for one to understand the fear of the Lord before they can appreciate the mercy that is there in obediance. However everything I have heard her say is 100% true so all I can do is advise to my sister. Praise God in Jesus Christ name and keep on witnessing! -DAP
How do you think we as Americans are able to speak our opinions? We can because we are free, and we are free because of our military. I do not agree in violence, but if we don't defend ourselves half of us would have been burned in the holocaust....
The Bible teaches to love everyone. That is one of the ways you can praise our Lord. Hating is not preached in the Bible. No one can be like our Lord.
The Lord gives you hard times to over come to test your true faith in him. He is looking to see who will stick by him in an awful time. Havn't you heard the story of Job, Shirley? Also if you are so into God and religion, you also know that using the Lord's name in harmful ways is not favored.
Our military fights for our freedom, safety, others rights American or not, all to have ignorant idiots such as you preach the devil's teachings, and want them dead. That is a sin too that you are commiting. Our Military fights so you can have freedom of speech and the right to protest.... with out them, you would be gassed by now. It is because of our Military where you are today... leave our country if you hate it so much... try living in a 3rd world country and preach what you have been preaching in America, I would like to see how far you get then!
Besides how can you hear what the Lord is trying to tell you when you don't have an open mind and you can't shut up!
