Sharon Stone wins "Mom of the Year"...

According to this New York Post gossip page, Sharon Stone flew in 1st class, while her nine month-old son and nanny rode in coach. Her reason?
"First class was sold out," a spokeswoman explained. "She tried to get them seats in first class but couldn't, and she didn't want them on a separate plane."
I know what you're thinking, "Sharon Stone flying WITH her son in coach?" Impossible. But don't worry... the source claims that Stone did venture back into coach to check on her son... probably holding her breath the whole time.

Ahh, Sharon.

Your post caused me to remember a time when I was a miserable bastard living in New York City, waiting tables at an outrageously over-hyped, irrationally over-priced, and frenetically paced diner on the upper east side. The kind of place that has a constant air of tension among the employees that can only be found when you get too many needy celebrities in one confined space, lined with mirrors. The lovely MS. Stone came crashing in one day, throwing around demands and various bantam comments like she owned the place. I had, by that point in my life, completely stopped giving the slightest fleck of shit if a customer was some celebrity bent on a public coddling in order to feel powerful. I also had some gas that morning. So, in a calculated moment within the greater chaos and clamor of this crowded Sunday brinch, I slowed as I passed her table, just long enough to covertly float an air biscuit directly into her personal space. I knew it would be silent. It's a gift I have. And then I was off, disappearing back into the frenzied milieu of grease and ego that filled the place. She'd never know it was me.

Did she smell it? I can only assume so. Did it upset her? I can only hope. Did it make me happy? HELLZ YES!

And your post has granted me the rare reprise of such a gratifying moment in an otherwise joyless time in my life.

Thanks, and keep up the great blogging.

Best,

Steve
